Jo Goodship

I am an Online Tutor for the Research Methods and Research Ethics module of the MSc Cybercrime.

I have a First-Class Honours degree in Social Policy and Administration, and a Masters with Distinction in Social Research Methods.

For the last 23 years I have been an active researcher both within the University of Portsmouth and for an independent consultancy company, and I also have extensive experience teaching social research methods.

Since 2012 my students have predominantly been online learners within the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies at Portsmouth.

Career highlights

Being responsible for the research design, ethical clearance and collection of primary and secondary data for major research studies including:

  • A three-year commission for The Department of Health into the modernisation of adult social care
  • A national review of the effectiveness of foundation degrees for the national body, Foundation Degree Forward
  • A national study into the effectiveness of NHS services for wheelchair users for The Posture and Mobility Group
