Dr Mohamed Bader-El-Den

I'm a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing at the University of Portsmouth. My research interests are in the areas of Data Science (DS), Machine Learning (ML), Evolutionary Algorithms and Combinatorial Optimisation.

I'm the leader of the Data Science courses, including BSc Data Science and Analytics, MSc Data Analytics, MSc Data Analytics (online) and MSc Data Analytics with Professional Experience.

I am currently leading a Knowledge Transfer Project (KTP) with Fresh Relevance. The project aims to develop pioneer machine learning methods for digital marketing and consumer behaviour prediction. Fresh Relevance is a leading digital marketing company handling more than 500 clients including well-known brands such as Homebase, Thorntons and many others.

I'm a member of the technical committee for several international journals and conferences and have given talks at several major international events.

  • Receiving my PhD from the University of Essex and postdoc from the University of Loughborough
  • Leading successful industrial partnerships
  • Publishing more than 70 full papers in journals and fully peer-reviewed conference proceedings, including leading journals such as IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems (Impact Factor 11.683).
  • Involvement in several research projects and currently lead a Knowledge Transfer Project (KTP) with Fresh Relevance
