Course Director, MSc Global Human Resource Management
I have over 12 years' experience in human resource management (HRM), mainly in the engineering and manufacturing sectors, latterly in managerial positions with line management responsibility. I was responsible for learning and development of 2000 employees at a busy manufacturing site, including the design and delivery of management development programmes.
I have extensive experience as an academic (over 25 years) including the design, development and running of the HRM courses and modules at the University of Portsmouth and have overall responsibility for the HRM courses. I'm also Course leader for the MSc Human Resource Management, taught in the Cayman Islands.
I've co-authored and contributed to a number of academic texts including French, Rayner, Rees and Rumbles, Organisational Behaviour, Wiley, Leading and Managing People, CIPD, and Human Resource Management, Oxford University Press.
My current research interests are employee engagement and wellbeing and I'm working to complete my professional doctorate in the area of employee engagement.
